“Together We Can Do More” is a name of the project that we were working on. It was financed (based on our application) by Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs from Funds for Public Initiatives. The main goal of the project was to meet with representatives of patients’ organizations around Poland and present the idea of integration and at the same time get the impute of patients issues from the regions.
Detailed objectives of the project:
- increase references of the NGO’s representatives in regions
- improve level and cooperation between patients
- better effectiveness and rapidity among organizations federate in FPP
- access to integrated system of communication (website)
- improve relationship between organizations and patients
support members of the organizations in communications with the exterior (media)
Series of seminars (to be delivered in 16 major Polish cities) were created for that occasion. Calling for partnership of the National Health Found (NHF) during this tour gave us a unique opportunity to gain immediate recognition in the regions. During each meeting we usually meet around 20 patients’ organisations representatives and other guests (local stakeholders). There are two major publications promoted. One is Vademecum created by NHF – guide for patients about a Public Healthcare System and the second is the EPF’s Patients’ Manifesto.
Each meeting has full media coverage. There are always all major regional media present. Here is a list of those that we have been interviewed by so far (after visiting 10 out of 16 cities):
Regional TV stations:
- TVP Rzeszów
- TVS Kraków
- TVP Opole
- TVP Szczecin
- TVP Bydgoszcz
Regional radio stations:
- Polskie Radio Lublin
- Radio Opole
- Radio Merkury
Regional newspapers:
- Kurier Szczeciński
- Gazeta Pomorska
- Gazeta Wyborcza- Bydgoszcz
- Express Bydgoski
- Nowa Trybuna Opolska
- PAP Katowice
- Dziennik Polski Kraków
- Super Nowości Rzeszów
- Gazeta Wyborcza Rzeszów
In our estimation the outcome of such coverage in the news is reaching 5 millions of listeners and viewers (patients) around regions. At the end of the tour the number of informed people will easy exceed 10 millions.
At the last event (the national conference) that will close this tour we will present the final report covering all of those issues from regions addressed by patients. We hope to have a opportunity to invite representatives of EPF and other Polish authorities and decision makers for this occasion.
